Laura Branigan

Most known for her smash hits of "Gloria" and "Self Control," Laura Branigan has one of the most powerful voices in music.  Her ballads are filled with pure power and her dance songs are energetic and fun.  The CD cover to the side is her release from 1993.  I find this to be her best work to date.   The songs are all quality and her range is the best that I have EVER heard it on any of her CD's.  Some songs that highlight this CD are "Didn't We Almost Win It All?" and "Over You."

Cher

One name: CHER!  While most singers have to carry a last name to be recognized, the name Cher is able to stand alone.  When you hear this name, you think power.  You think of a legend still going strong.  You think sex appeal.   She started in the early 1970's with Sonny Bono and is still at the top of her game in the late 1990's.  Her voice is very masculine and that adds to the appeal of her music.  Among my favorites are "Gypsies, Tramps, And Thieves," "Love And Understanding," and "After All (with Peter Cetera)."

Deborah Gibson

"I get lost in your eyes and I feel my spirits rise..." fits perfectly when talking about Deborah.  However, you can substitute music for the word eyes in that line.  Miss Gibson has emerged from cute teen to mature lady and has changed her name from Debbie to Deborah.  The CD to the left is my personal favorite (from 1995).  A CD with mostly ballads, Deborah has perfect rhythm and rhyme.  I consider it to be her masterpiece, especially the song "Let's Run Away."  Currently, she has out her sixth studio CD, simply called Deborah.   Also, she has been very active on Broadway and is starring as Belle in the smash, Beauty And The Beast.  For those that think she has went away, she hasn't, but she is better than ever!

)|(  Madonna  )|(

One of the lone survivors from the 1980's, Madonna continues to remain at the top of the charts.  With her newest release, Ray Of Light, Madonna conquers the Techno-world.  Her voice is better than ever (thanks to the Evita training) and her lyrics show a whole new Madonna, as a mother.  Her first single, "Frozen," has already become one of my all-time favorite songs in any genre.  She has went from the "material girl" to the "queen of pop."  Click on the "Frozen" graphic to visit her official fan club website.  And if you have not already, give Madonna and Ray Of Light a try.   This CD is definitely her best effort ever!
