The heart never wants to give up,
On a love that it thinks is true,
Even when the mind knows better,
And the mind is almost over you.
The heart rules the affairs of love,
And holds on until the bitter end,
Fighting for what was there,
Hoping that feelings can and will mend.
Even when the mind knows better,
And knows that the world will fall apart,
Leaving many pieces to be picked up,
To repair a broken heart.
Love will make you wise to a degree,
But when it is time to let go,
Even when the mind is aware,
Sometimes the heart does not know.
Yet, time heals all wounds,
And I will push away all this blue,
And soon with a lot of strength,
My heart will be almost over you.
